Providing you support throughout your journey
We offer support from beginning to end. Many families enjoy having education and support in place, starting prenatally. Then we can continue to support and educate through the remainder of your breastfeeding experience to maintain continuity so you can achieve your goals!
In-person and remote options
Get lactation support from the comfort of your own home with one of our two options. Virtual lactation support, or in-person support within West Michigan.
*Travel fee may apply
Does your insurance cover visits?
There’s a possibility your insurance plan may fully cover up to 6 visits, virtual and in-home. Don’t worry, if your insurance is not included, there is an affordable fee. You can also submit your superbill to try getting reimbursement from other insurance companies.
About Me
Makayla Bowne, IBCLC
Hi! My name is Makayla, I am an IBCLC and CPST. I am a wife and mother of two boys, our first in 2019 and my youngest in 2023, as well as a bunny-mom. Prior to becoming pregnant, I had always desired to become a mother, and had a large interest in birth and all that comes with it. I took trainings through DONA to become a birth and postpartum doula. It was so beautiful to be welcomed into people’s birth space and be able to provide them support. As a first generation breastfeeder, this was completely new to me. I developed a passion for breastfeeding and got a job at the hospital working as a lactation peer counselor, where I then took training to receive my Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certificate. After working this for a couple years I decided to go back to school and work towards and received International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I also recently (2023) took training to become a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) as I feel strongly about child/infant safety. Contact me to discuss how to help your family reach your goals!
